Glass Fusing Fun!

Let's party with our glass cutters!

Gather your friends for a night of fusing fun! Learn about the fundamentals of glass cutting and fusing, how to use a kiln and create beautiful art pieces while enjoying a night with friends.

Students will create a 5" plate, a pair of earrings and 2 pendants, each using different materials such as frit, stringers, dichroic and irridized glass. They will also learn how to load their work into the kiln, program it and begin the fusing process. The class Includes use of all materials, including glass and tools necessary to create your masterpieces as well as kiln fusing time & handouts. Later, students can return for a short class to glue bails on their pendants and create post or hook earrings. (or Kath can do it for you)

Create a Day of the Dead Skull

Celebrate Halloween and Day of the Dead with a beautifully decorated skull.

On November 1 and 2 in Mexico and throughout the U.S., The Dia de los Meurtas (Day of the Dead) skull is used to celebrate and remember those who have passed on. People go to cemeteries to be with their departed and decorate their homes and graves with these skulls, along with favorite foods and flowers. Some believe the skulls and other Day of the Dead items bring good luck.
Join artist Kath Piros, as we paint (with paint pens), glitter and bling up a skull mask during the workshop.
Cost: $15 which includes all of the materials!

Grand Opening & Zendoodle Class

Kate Studio Grand Opening -

Let's Make A Zen Doodle Framed Artwork!!

 7:00-9:15pm
Tuesday, September 30th

Kate Studio
639 Hunter’s Pointe Drive
Bellingham, WA
(forest green corner house on corner of Hunter’s Pointe/Clark– the studio is in the basement)

Cost: $10
*** EXCLUSIVE (special grand-opening price for meet-up members)
Space is limited to 6 students.

(refreshments and snacks provided for our opening celebration)

Join art teacher Kath Piros at the grand opening of Kate Studio!!  Learn what the studio offers and let your creativity run free.  This first day, we'll be learning about papers and inks to create a zendoodles, experimenting with doodle patterns, then placing our art in a matted frame that's provided.  People have been doodling for years... at least since the invention of the telephone! Haven't you sometimes been quite surprised at seeing the results of your mindless marks? Zendoodles build up a design by completing small sections at a time, all while being in a relaxed, “zen-like” state.   Join us to draw, have a few laughs, make friends and enjoy an evening of art.
Your material fee will cover use of all materials, and each student takes away a framed zendoodle artwork created in class. No prerequisites and no experience required.  This is a great course for those who are experienced artists as well as those who can only draw geometric shapes.

Please remember cancellations allowed only until 5 days before the meetup.  Instructors have to purchase the materials in advance, so after that time, members who cancel or do not attend will be charged for the material fees.  Thank you!

Welcome to my new studio!

This has long been a dream of mine to have a space to create art and teach my favorite arts and crafts.  When our family moved to Bellingham in July, our new home came with an art studio PERFECT to make my dream come true!

I am thrilled to announce the grand opening of "Kate Studio," a place where creativity flows, and we can all create in an unintimidating, nurturing, fun environment.  Please join me for many of these weekly and weekend workshops and classes in everything from fusing glass, zen doodling, multicultural art, wire working, metal smithing, painting to ceramics.
